AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn softball team will continue its fall season with an exhibition against local foe Auburn University at Montgomery Friday night. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT at Jane B. Moore Field.
"We're just looking to build off what we're doing in practice - the little things," head coach Mickey Dean said. "The big things will come, but we're looking to improve and continue our theme throughout the fall - chop wood and carry water."
The weekend has also been dubbed as Alumni Weekend as former Tigers spanning across five decades will be in attendance Friday night.
The team will be wearing teal ribbons in honor of former Mississippi State player Alex Wilcox and for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
There will be a postgame autograph session on the concourse following the game.
As with all home fall games, admission is free to the public. There will be limited concessions serving bottled beverages, assorted candy and snacks.
Auburn is coming off back-to-back wins against Northwest Florida State CC and Wallace State CC-Hanceville last Sunday. In total, the Tigers had 12 players tally at least one hit, including seven with multiple base hits.
Casey McCrackin and Taylon Snow led the way with five and four knocks, respectively.
In the circle, the Tigers notched 13 strikeouts paced by Ashlee Swindle's six through four innings pitched.
The fall games will not be streamed, but fans can stay updated through the Auburn softball Twitter account: @AuburnSoftball.
