ROCKY FACE, Ga. – The No. 6 Auburn men's golf team moved up the leaderboard following Saturday's round at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. The Tigers climbed to fourth after their second circuit of The Farm Golf Club.
Sophomore Andrew Kozan led the way and tied a career-best round of 69 (-3). The West Palm Beach, Fla. native racked up three birdies on the front nine and played the entire 18 holes without a bogey. He is at even par and is tied for 18th overall with fellow Tiger Brandon Mancheno.
Mancheno turned in a 1-under 71 in his second tour of the par-72 course. Despite starting the first eight holes at 2-over, the Jacksonville, Fla. native fired in four birdies on the final 10 holes to get to even par.
Senior Jacob Solomon and junior Ryan Knop each carded a round of 1-under 71. Solomon notched a team-best seven birdies on the day and is in a tied for 23rd at 1-over. Knop is tied for 11th at 2-under after playing a bogey-free round that featured 17 pars and a birdie.
Sophomore Wells Padgett and junior Graysen Huff rounded out the Auburn contingent. Padgett is tied for 35th at 3-over after a 4-over 76, while Huff is tied for 63rd at 7-over following a 1-over 73.
Georgia Tech (281-275--556) and Tennessee (280-276--556) are tied for the team at 20-under, followed by Alabama (288-270--558), Auburn (293-284--577), South Carolina (294-284--578), Virginia (294-284--578), Clemson (290-294--584), Cal (301-284--585), North Florida (301-285--586), LSU (296-292--588), Kennesaw State (288-300--588), Chattanooga (295-294--589), Florida (301-296--597), Colorado State (301-299--600) and Dalton State (303-297--600).
