Q&A with AuburnTigers.com

AuburnTigers.com: Why Auburn? What makes it special?

Ed Johnson: I've always been an Auburn Tiger. I come from a family of Auburn people. I knew I wanted to be a part of this special community that I grew up visiting and hearing about from a very young age. Auburn has always felt like a home away from home, and I am so blessed that soon it truly will be.

AT: What is your greatest accomplishment?

EJ: My greatest accomplishment is not only that I had the opportunity to play varsity baseball as a freshman and sophomore in high school, but that I was able to help my team win a 7A State Championship at such a young age. Getting to be a part of a team with that amount of talent as a sophomore was both a humbling and rewarding experience.

AT: How do you see the decision to come to Auburn impacting your life?

EJ: I believe God doesn't do anything by accident, and that Auburn being a part of my life is all a part of His plan. He has blessed me with this wonderful opportunity, so I can only believe that these next four years spent in Auburn will have a positive impact on my life and my future.

AT: What is your favorite thing about baseball?

EJ: Baseball has allowed me to be around some of the best guys I have ever met. I credit baseball for so many of the life lessons that I have been taught. The game is a constant mental battle, and this battle has made me a better person and increased my love for the game.
