AUBURN, Ala. – The fall season continues for the Auburn women's tennis team this weekend as the Tigers travel to Oxford, Miss., for the ITA Southern Regional Championship.

The tournament runs Friday-Monday at Ole Miss with matches set to take place at multiple facilities on campus and around Oxford. A total of 17 schools from the states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are competing at the event, which will consist of a main and 'B' draw of both singles and doubles, along with a singles consolation draw.

Matches begin at 8 a.m. CT Friday through Sunday with the championship matches set for noon Monday.

Five Auburn players will compete in the event with all five playing singles and two doubles pairings. Full draws will be released later Thursday evening and available at OleMissSports.com.

Junior Taylor Russo and sophomore Jaeda Daniel lead the Tigers into the second tournament of the fall season. Russo went 3-1 at the team's first event, the Big 5 Challenge at TCU, in September. Daniel, at No. 39 in the fall ITA rankings, posted a 2-2 mark at TCU – both wins were over nationally ranked opponents - then earned two more victories in a professional event in Charleston, S.C., last week.

Auburn has had a recent run of success at the ITA Regional, earning the singles title four of the last six seasons. Alizee Michaud defeated teammate Andie Dikosavljevic in the 2016 singles final after Dikosavljevic was the singles champion in 2015. Pleun Burgmans was the singles champion in 2013 and won back-to-back doubles titles with Emily Flickinger in 2013 and 2014.
Last season, when Auburn played host to the event, Russo finished as the runner-up in the singles main draw, earning five singles wins and securing a berth to the ITA Fall Nationals.

Results will be posted as they become available on the @AuburnWTennis Twitter and Facebook pages as well as OleMissSports.com. A full recap will follow the tournament on AuburnTigers.com.
