BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior midfielder Bri Folds has been named First Team All-SEC, while junior forward Treva Aycock and sophomore defender Alyssa Malonson earned Second Team All-SEC honors, the league office announced Sunday.
It marks the fourth straight season Auburn has had a first team selection and the fifth consecutive year with three or more all-conference honorees.
"We are excited to have these three players recognized by the SEC," head coach Karen Hoppa said. "They have all been instrumental in our season so far, and each of them have made big plays in big games."
Folds has paced the Auburn attack in the midfield this season, leading the team with a career-high nine goals and 25 points to go along with seven assists. It marks the second time in her three-year career she has been honored by the SEC after being named to the 2016 SEC All-Freshman Team.
"Bri has had a terrific year," Hoppa added. "She has been our playmaker all year and has not only scored goals, but she has created a lot of them by what she does on and off the ball. A majority of her goals are game-winners as well, so she has come up big under pressure. She is very deserving of her first-team honor."
The Lakeland, Florida, native finished the regular season tied for the league lead with six game-winning goals, which ranks third in the country and matches the Auburn single-season record. Folds also ranks fourth in the SEC in points, tied for fourth in assists and fifth in goals, making her the lone player in the league to rank in the top five in all four categories.
Folds registered three or more points in three of the team's first seven games and has been recognized by Top Drawer Soccer on four occasions this season.
Also a key piece of the Auburn attack, Aycock has made an immediate impact in her first year on The Plains as she ranks second on the team with seven goals and 20 points and is third on the team with six assists.
"Treva has made such a positive impact on our team this year," Hoppa said. "She is a true goal-scorer who works her tail off every game."
The Marietta, Georgia, native was arguably the team's best player in SEC action as she ranked tied for third in the league in goals (five) and points (12) in conference play.
Aycock scored a trio of game-winners this season, including the team's lone goal in an important conference win against Georgia, and registered a season-high five points on two goals and an assist in her first SEC contest against Mississippi State. She was recognized by Top Drawer Soccer after both performances.
Malonson has been impressive on both ends of the field en route to earning recognition from the conference. It marks her second straight season on an all-conference team after earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors last year.
"Alyssa has had a great sophomore year," Hoppa said. "Not only is she a lock-down defender, she contributes significantly to our offense."
The Spring, Texas, native has not only played an important role in helping the Tigers to nine shutouts this season – tied for the fourth most in program history – but also leads the team and is tied for the conference lead with eight assists. Four of Malonson's assists came in SEC contests, which ranked tied for third in the conference.
She was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week after leading Auburn to a pair of shutouts and registering an assist in two games against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State.
Auburn enters the SEC Tournament as the No. 9 seed and will take on No. 8 Florida (6-9-3, 4-4-2 SEC) in the first round Sunday at 3:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
