ATLANTA – The No. 14 Auburn men's golf team wrapped up the one round of stroke play at the 2018 East Lake Cup Monday afternoon at East Lake GC. The Tigers took fourth following an 8-over 296 at the par-72 course.
Jovan Rebula led the way as he earned a seventh-place finish. The junior shot an even-par 72 and tied for the team lead with three birdies, including a pair on the back nine.
Trace Crowe made Rebula's birdie output, with two also on the back nine, en route to a tie for ninth at 2-over (74).
Wells Padgett and Jacob Solomon tied for 13th after turning in rounds of 3-over (75) each. Padgett churned out two birdies, while Solomon had one.
Rounding out the lineup was Brandon Mancheno, who tied for 19th at 8-over (80).
Viktor Hovland of Oklahoma State earned medalist honors in the only round of stroke play at 4-under (68). No. 3 Duke took the top spot at 3-under (285), followed by No. 1 Oklahoma State (287), No. 4 Alabama (293) and No. 14 Auburn (296).
The Tigers and Blue Devils are set to square off in the semifinals of the match play portion of the tournament Tuesday, beginning off the first tee box at 10:05 a.m. CT. They will meet either the Cowboys or Crimson Tide in the final matchup Wednesday.
