SURPRISE, Ariz. – Former Auburn pitcher Ben Braymer has been named to the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game to be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona.
 
Braymer will join a dozen of MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects in the game scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. The contest will be broadcast on MLB Network and streamed live on MLB.com.
 
In five relief appearances with the Salt River Rafters this fall, Braymer has posted a 1-0 record with a 7.50 ERA. Outside of an outing on Oct. 15, the left-hander has allowed just one earned run in 5.2 innings pitched. He has struck out seven batters in 6.0 total innings of work in Arizona.
 
Braymer led Washington's Minor League system with a 2.28 ERA while going 9-3 with two saves in 28 games (11 starts) between Single-A Hagerstown and Single-A Potomac en route to being named the Nationals 2018 co-Minor League Pitcher of the Year. He struck out 118 batters – third-most in Washington's system – in 114.2 innings pitched. Opposing batters hit .219 against him, including a .174 average by left-handed batters.
 
The left-hander opened the season by turning in a 1.75 ERA (5 ER/25.2 IP) in seven relief appearances with Single-A Hagerstown. He struck out 25 batters while issuing just five walks. He earned South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors on April 15.
 
Braymer was promoted to Single-A Potomac on May 10 and made 11 starts in addition to 10 appearances out of the bullpen. In those 11 starts, he went 5–2 with a 2.43 ERA (17 ER/63.0 IP) and struck out 65 batters while holding opponents to a .217 average. In his final five starts, he pitched to a 0.96 ERA (3 ER/28.0 IP) with 33 strikeouts and a .146 opponents' batting average and turned in a 7.0 no-hit innings with nine strikeouts and a walk vs. Myrtle Beach on Aug. 14.
 
Braymer was selected in the 18th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Auburn. In his lone season on The Plains after transferring from Louisiana State-Eunice, the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native went 4-4 with a 3.56 ERA. He made 21 appearances, including four starts, and struck out 47 batters in 48.0 innings pitched. 
 
In two-plus professional seasons, Braymer has gone 14-7 and posted a 3.02 ERA. He has made 49 appearances, including 26 starts, and has struck out 218 batters in 199.2 innings of work.
