Tigers Face Texas A&M in Auburn Arena on Halloween

AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn volleyball continues its homestand Wednesday, Oct. 31, hosting Texas A&M in Auburn Arena. The Tigers and the Aggies will go head-to-head at 7 p.m. CT and the match will be televised live on SEC Network.
 
"We had a good weekend at home last weekend and we're looking to build on that momentum," head coach Rick Nold said. "Texas A&M is a well-balanced team that is coming off a pair of tough losses. They'll be ready to battle and we'll need to be ready as well."

QUICK HITS
- Auburn is 10-11 overall with a 3-8 mark in the Southeastern Conference. The team is coming off a pair of SEC wins at home last weekend, topping Ole Miss in five sets (Oct. 26) and sweeping Arkansas (Oct. 28).
- Freshmen Tatum Shipes and Mica Allison were honored by the SEC Monday as the pair each picked up a weekly honor. Shipes was named the Co-Freshman of the Week, while Allison earned Setter of the Week.
- Shipes averaged 4.12 kills/set over eight played and reached a career-best 21 vs. Ole Miss.
- Allison also had a career high reached against the Rebels, having 61 assists. That marked the first time since 2015 an Auburn setter has eclipsed 60 or more helpers in a match.
- Sophomore Anna Stevenson is among the conference's best, ranking third in overall block average (1.30), while her 1.43 mark vs. SEC-only opponents is second.  
- Senior Brenna McIlroy continues to lead the Tigers offensively, averaging 2.97 kills/set. The Garland, Texas, product returned to the outside position this past weekend and totaled 18 kills vs. the Rebels with 14 against the Razorbacks.
- McIlroy also continues to excel from the service line, averaging .45 aces/set to rank fourth in the SEC.
- Allison as earned the starting nod in all matches at setter for the Tigers the year.  The White Heath, Ill., native is fourth in the Southeastern Conference with a 10.06 assists/set average.
- Auburn's 2018 schedule boasts 10 2017 NCAA Tournament participants.
 
UP NEXT
Auburn heads back to the road and takes on South Carolina Sunday, Nov. 4, in Columbia. The two teams will face off at 12:30 p.m. CT.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
- The Texas A&M Aggies are 12-11 on the year with a 5-6 mark in the Southeastern Conference.
- The team is coming off a pair of five-set losses last week with the first coming at the hands of Alabama in College Station. The Aggies then fell at nationally-ranked Missouri Sunday afternoon.
- Junior outside hitter Hollan Hans leads TAMU and is third in the SEC with a 4.33 kills/set average. She is also third with a 4.24 mark vs. conference-only opponents.
- Hans is also among the league's best in service aces, having a .46 average in the category to rank third. - Sophomore setter Camille Conner is third in the league with a 10.06 assists/set mark.
 
A WIN OVER TAMU WOULD...
- Give Auburn its second win over Texas A&M since the Aggies joined the SEC.
 
AUBURN-TAMU SERIES
- Texas A&M leads the all-time series, 11-1. The Aggies are 7-1 against Auburn since they joined the conference in 2012.
- Auburn and Texas A&M have met four times on the Plains.
