Auburn prepares for busy weekend at Jane B. Moore Field

AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn softball team is set to host three games this weekend at Jane B. Moore Field, beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. CT against Gulf Coast State College.

The Tigers then host a doubleheader on Sunday against North Georgia and Valdosta State. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. CT.

"This weekend will be a good test to see where we are as we wind down the fall," head coach Mickey Dean said. "All three of the programs we're playing have won national championships, so it will a good challenge for our team.

"It will be good for us to get out and see the fans once again for another great weekend at Jane B. Moore Field."

Auburn is coming off a 10-inning shutout of Auburn University at Montgomery. The pitching staff of Lexie Handley, Chardonnay Harris, Makayla Martin and Ashlee Swindle combined for 10 strikeouts in the circle.

Brittany Maresette, Dakota Morrow, Taylon Snow and Martin carried the Tigers at the dish. Maresette and Snow laced RBI doubles, while Martin and Morrow tallied singles.

Morgan Podany also brought in a run with a groundout.

As a team, Auburn swiped four bases, highlighted by KK Crocker's two.

Following the final game of both days, there will be a postgame autograph session on the concourse.

As with all home fall games, admission is free to the public. There will be limited concessions serving bottled beverages, assorted candy and snacks.

The Tigers wrap up the fall exhibition schedule Oct. 18 against Snead State. First pitch at Jane B. Moore Field is tabled for 6 p.m. CT.
