AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn had a solid showing at the 2018 ITA All-American men's tennis tournament in Tulsa, Okla., during the past week.
Pre-qualifying action began Saturday, with senior Brandon Laubser making the biggest splash, winning an impressive five consecutive matches over three days to advance into the second tier of the qualifying round. Sophomore Tad Maclean posted two opening day wins to advance to the pre-qualifier Round of 64.
Sophomore Matteo DeVincentis and junior Tim Dollman each fell in their opening match of the qualifying round on Monday, and were eliminated in consolation play Tuesday. DeVincentis is ranked No. 53 in the preseason Oracle/ITA singles ratings, while Dollman is No. 93.
Auburn returns to action October 12-14 at the Samford Fall Invitational in Birmingham.
