NORMAN, Okla. – Auburn associate head coach Corey Maggard has been chosen to serve as the assistant coach for the United States at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup.
The event is set to take place at The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark., June 7-9.
"I'm honored to be selected for this opportunity," Maggard said. "I'm looking forward to a fantastic week in Arkansas representing our country."
Maggard is in his fifth season at Auburn and his third as associate head coach. He was the recipient of the 2018 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award following one of the most successful seasons in program history.
Last campaign, the Tigers earned their best finish all-time when they tied for third at the NCAA Championships and claimed the Southeastern Conference title, the first since 2002.
The success has continued into the 2018-19 season as Auburn claimed its first East Lake Cup. In a battle featuring the top-four finishers at the NCAA Championships a season ago, the Tigers defeated Alabama and Duke in match play to capture the title.
Auburn recently had a presence in the annual Arnold Palmer Cup when Jovan Rebula participated with the International squad in the 2018 competition. He became the first player to represent South Africa in the event.
Other Tigers represented at the Arnold Palmer Cup include Blayne Barber (2011, 2012) and Michael Johnson (2016).
