Auburn, Ala. – Auburn baseball fell behind early and ultimately dropped its second and final exhibition game of the fall by a 9-3 margin in a 12-inning game against Samford Friday night at Plainsman Park.

"I've enjoyed these fall exhibitions to try and get every player in the ballgame," head coach Butch Thompson said. "It's a different feeling than last week and probably more for us to draw from and start working on some things. These guys will walk away tonight probably more motivated to go to work."

On the mound, Auburn tallied 18 strikeouts in the contest and held Samford to one run in the final five innings. Ryan Watson, Brooks Fuller and Peyton Glavine highlighted the pitching performance with 10 combined strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched. Elliott Anderson and Garrett Wade also struck out a trio of batters in 2.0 innings apiece.

Offensively, the Tigers scored two runs in the third inning to cut the deficit to two, but that's as close as they would get. Ryan Bliss accounted for two hits, including a triple, and reached base three times while also driving in a run. Edouard Julien doubled and scored, while both Steven Williams and Will Holland recorded a base hit and RBI.

Auburn wraps up the fall with its annual Orange vs. Blue World Series next Friday-Sunday. Admission to all intrasquad scrimmages is free.
