AUBURN, Ala. – Alison Maillard and Conner Pruitt each picked up a third-place finish on the platform as competition wrapped up at the Auburn Diving Invitational on Wednesday at the Martin Aquatics Center.

Maillard, who had finished second on the 1-meter on Tuesday, scored a 238.70 on the platform on Wednesday. Her score was just 6.15 points off her season-best.

"Alison did a great front two-and-a-half pike and a great inward two-and-a-half and her full-out is coming," Auburn diving coach Jeff Shaffer said. "She has done some great ones in practice and it just didn't' come out in the meet yet, but it will."

Pruitt scored a 340.40 on the platform to earn his second third-place showing of the Invitational, also finishing third on the 1-meter on Monday.

"Conner did a couple of really solid dives on platform but he missed his come-outs on backs and gainers, which we have to focus on," Shaffer said.

Logan Andrews, who had yet to compete on platform this season, finished fifth with a 293.85, which is within nine points of his career best.

"It was good to see Logan get a list off on tower after not doing a lot this fall because of some injuries," Shaffer said.

Justin Checchin finished 10th with a 209.05.

"Overall it was a successful meet and it accomplished what our goals were," Shaffer said. "We did some really good dives and trained real hard throughout the meet. Unfortunately we didn't always hit the dives that we have been doing well in the meet, but the experience was good."

LSU's Juan Hernandez won the men's competition with a 384.75 and Matthew Phillip was second (362.30). South Carolina's Marissa Roth (287.80) and Mikaela Lujan (249.30) took the top two spots in the women's competition.

Auburn's fall schedule is now complete. The diving team will be back in action Jan. 4-6 at the Georgia Diving Invitational at Athens, Georgia, while the swimmers will play host to Georgia Tech on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Martin Aquatics Center. The dual meet with Georgia Tech begins at 10 a.m. CT and admission is free.
