AUBURN, Ala. – David DuCote is the next member of Auburn's 15-man recruiting class to be announced after signing with the Tigers and head coach Butch Thompson last month.

"It was Coach Thompson and Coach Nonemaker that made my decision to choose Auburn so easy," DuCote said. "They immediately made me feel welcome and at home. They were very positive and encouraging, which is the type of coaching I thrive the most under. I'm beyond excited to get on the field and start working with them."

DuCote, a product of Selma, Alabama, and John T. Morgan Academy, is high school teammates with Thursday's signee, Gunnar Henderson. He was voted the team's best defensive player while also hitting .358 and helped lead his school to the 2018 MS 3A State Championship.

"I'm most excited to have the resources and coaching support to continue developing while having the opportunity to be on the field with the best baseball players in the country," DuCote added. "We have a real shot at winning in a big way in the SEC. As a baseball player, if you can't get excited about all of that, something is wrong with you. I can't wait to be on the field wearing that Auburn uniform."
