AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's basketball team will host the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday, Dec. 2, as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, the conference office announced Monday.
Game time and TV information will be announced at a later date. It will be the first meeting between the two schools in women's basketball.
This will be Auburn's second appearance in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. In 2016, the 23rd-ranked Tigers traveled to Manhattan, Kan., to face Kansas State, falling 71-66 in a hard-fought contest.
The 2018 season is the third year of a 10-game SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The SEC won six of the 10 matchups in 2016 while each conference won five games apiece in 2017.
Season ticket renewals begin Aug. 1 and continue through the end of the month. General public season tickets will go on sale in September, and single-game and mini-plan tickets will be available in October.
The Tigers' full home schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. In addition to the Oklahoma game on Dec. 2, the Tigers will play in the Preseason WNIT, beginning with a home game vs. Nicholls State on Friday, Nov. 9. Conference play begins in January with home SEC games against Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Auburn returns four starters and eight letter-winners from the 2017-18 season and welcomes an incoming freshman class ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation.
