AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn continues to rise in the national polls as the Tigers appear at No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 17 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll this week.
Auburn, which is the third-highest ranked team in the Southeastern Conference and second-highest in the Southeast region, is one of the biggest risers coming off a pair of road wins against Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State. The Tigers enter the top-10 for the first time since starting last season in the same position.
Auburn is 6-0-0 to start a season for the first time since 2015 and just the third time in program history. The team is also one of three teams in the SEC and four teams in the country with six wins and no losses or ties.
The Tigers traveled across the country to take on Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State in its first true road trip of the season and left the Golden State with a pair of shutout wins, marking the team's first time with back-to-back shutouts this season. The latter win was Long Beach State's first home loss of the season.
Auburn has outscored its opponents 19-2 and has pitched four shutouts through six contests this season. The team ranks first in the country in assists (24) and points (62) and is tied for third in goals.
The Tigers return to action and play host to Cincinnati (3-2-0) Sunday. Kickoff at the Auburn Soccer Complex is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
