AUBURN, Ala. – Emily Hetzer has been named the SEC Swimming and Diving Co-Freshman of the Week following her performance in No. 7 Auburn's win over No. 8 Florida last weekend, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Hetzer, from Haymarket, Va., swept the distance events as Auburn won its fifth dual meet of the season. She won the 1000 free in 9:48.32, her second-fastest 1000 free of the season, to win by three seconds. She then won the 500 free in 4:48.96, again almost three seconds ahead of second place.

Hetzer has now won the 1000 free four times this year and the 500 free four times, sweeping the events at both the Alabama and Florida dual meets.

Auburn's win was its first over a top-10 team since it defeated No. 5 Florida at the beginning of the 2015-16 season.
