AUBURN, Ala. – Following the holidays, Auburn baseball and head coach Butch Thompson continue to announce the team's 2019 signing class with the addition of Blake Burkhalter, who officially inked his name with the Tigers last month.
 
"I'm glad I got to experience the amazing realization that I was actually going to play for one of the best teams in the country," Burkhalter said. "I really like the way Coach Thompson is running his program and the standards he sets for the players. This is one of the top coaching staffs in the country. Each coach excels at his position, and that is why Auburn baseball is getting increasingly better each season under Coach Thompson's guidance." 
 
Burkhalter is one of seven in-state signees and will make his way to The Plains from Dothan, Alabama. He posted a sub-1.00 ERA as a sophomore at Northview High School in 2017 and was named 2018 Perfect Game Preseason Underclass High Honorable Mention All-American prior to his junior season.
 
"I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to play at an in-state school, especially at a school as prestigious as Auburn," Burkhalter added. "It's an honor and has been a lifelong goal of mine to play at a SEC school, so I'm excited and ready to see what God has planned for me."

Auburn baseball will continue to announce its 2019 signing class with the addition of new student-athletes during the next week.
 
The Tigers begin the 2019 campaign with a three-game series against Georgia Southern from Feb. 15-17.
