BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Auburn senior Trace Crowe was named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
He is the first Tiger to garner distinction from the conference this season after a successful weekend in Hawaii.
Crowe paced Auburn to a second-place finish in a loaded 18-team field at the Amer Ari Invitational, featuring five top-15 teams.
The Bluffton, S.C. native tied for sixth individually at 12-under (68-69-67--204) following his three circuits of the par-72 Kings' Course. He was one of only three golfers out of 109 to shoot all three rounds in the 60s.
Crowe carded 14 birdies and one eagle en route to his second top-10 finish of the season. He turned in the lowest Auburn score in two of the three rounds.
Crowe and the Tigers return to the course Feb. 24-26 when they host the Tiger Invitational at Grand National in Opelika, Ala.
