Auburn takes on Alabama A&M in pair of midweek contests

AUBURN, Ala. - Fresh off its 11th straight non-conference series win, No. 15 Auburn concludes its stretch of five games in six days to start the season with a pair of midweek contests against Alabama A&M at 4 p.m. CT Tuesday and Wednesday at Plainsman Park.

Tuesday's game can be heard locally on WTGZ-FM (93.9) and Wednesday's contest will be broadcast on WQSI-FM (95.9). Fans can also listen online at AuburnTigers.com or on a mobile device via the Auburn Athletics app. Tuesday's contest will also be available on SEC Network+.

Auburn is coming off a series win against Georgia Southern, marking the team's 11th straight non-conference series win dating back to the season-opening series in 2016.

Tuesday and Wednesday's contests mark the Tigers fourth and fifth games in a span of six days. The team will play its first eight games of the season in a span of 10 days.

Freshman left-hander Carson Skipper makes his first career start Tuesday after throwing 3.0 scoreless innings of relief and earning a save in his collegiate debut in the season opener.

Eight of Auburn's 14 pitchers used last weekend were left-handers, totaling 317 pitches. Collectively, the left-handers turned in a line of 2-0, 0.47, 19.1 IP, 14 H, 17 K, .203 B/AVG.

Alabama A&M opened the 2019 season at home against Purdue Fort Wayne and dropped a quartet of contests with three game decided by one run.

Isom Ford leads the Bulldogs with a .375 batting average, while Tyus O'Neal-El drove in a team-best three runs last weekend.

SERIES HISTORY

Auburn is 9-0 all-time against Alabama A&M.

The two teams last met on Apr. 3, 2018 at Plainsman Park, and the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs, 19-5, behind eight extra-base hits including five doubles and three home runs.

Auburn has outscored A&M 100-17 all-time in the series.

Fans attending baseball are advised to park in the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum lot, the Stadium Parking Deck off Heisman Drive, or the Athletics Complex Parking Deck. Fans should note that the Auburn Arena lot will close at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for men's basketball.

The Stadium Deck is also available for game viewing. If there is a conflict with a men's basketball game, fans can park on the bottom two levels of the Stadium Deck.

A cell phone charging station is available to fans near the front gate adjacent to the promotions booth.

Grass areas around the park and adjacent parking lots are open for tailgating.
