AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's tennis signing class of 2019 was ranked No. 15 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net, the website announced this week.

Head coach Lauren Spencer's class of three signees – all of whom signed in November – was ranked 15th in the nation and fourth among SEC schools in a list of the top 25 recruiting classes as selected by a panel of junior tennis experts.

"I am are excited to receive this recognition for our 2019 recruiting class," Spencer said. "This is an extremely talented group of young ladies who will come in and make a big impact for our program.  I know that each of them are very excited to get to Auburn and help this team win a SEC championship.  We are excited for them to get to campus this fall and can't wait to start working with them on the court."

The Tigers signed Rosie Garcia Gross (New York, N.Y.); Selin Ovunc (Ankara, Turkey) and Caraline Scheufler (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) in the early signing period. In addition, Yu Chen of Jinzhang City, China, signed with the Tigers in November; she is already on campus and was not included in this set of rankings.

Ovunc was ranked No. 79 internationally among junior girls by the ITF and is the top-ranked player in Turkey. Garcia Gross is ranked as a five-star recruit and was rated the No. 9 overall prospect nationally. Scheufler is a four-star prospect and rated as high as No. 238 nationally.

Auburn continues non-conference play this weekend as the Tigers host a doubleheader with Jackson State beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Admission is free to all home matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
