AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 13 Auburn men's golf team is set to open the spring portion of its schedule when it takes part in the Amer Ari Invitation, Feb. 7-9, in Waikoloa, Hawaii. The Tigers will take aim on the par-72, 7,074-yard Kings' Course with 18 holes per day.
Auburn's lineup for the three-day tournament features Trace Crowe, Graysen Huff, Brandon Mancheno, Jovan Rebula and Jacob Solomon. Ryan Knop will also compete as an individual.
"It's been a good few days of preparation and we've had a great time as a team," Auburn head coach Nick Clinard said. "This group is fun to be around and they are really working hard for each other. The golf course is in great condition and depending on the trade winds should be a solid test early in the spring season."
Joining Auburn is a loaded field that features four top-15 teams, including the Tigers. No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 6 USC and No. 12 Texas accompany Auburn as top-25 teams, while Colorado, Hawaii, Hawaii-Hilo, Oregon, Oregon State, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Pacific, San Jose State, Stanford, TCU, Texas Tech, UC Davis and Utah round out the field.
The Tigers have taken part in the Amer Ari Invitational for the last six seasons, dating back to 2013. Auburn's best finish came last year when it finished fifth out of 18 teams. Four of the Tigers competing in this year's competition shot under-par in the 2018 tournament.
Mancheno tied for ninth at 9-under, while Rebula (-3), Solomon (-2) and Crowe (-1) capped their three circuits under-par.
The Tigers capped the 2018-19 fall season with a win at the prestigious East Lake Cup. Auburn defeated Duke in the semifinals of match play before burying Alabama in the championship match, 4-1.
Tee times for the first round are set for 11:30 a.m. CT. The Tigers are paired with Texas Tech, Oregon State and individuals in foursomes off the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th holes. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.
