AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's tennis team earned a pair of 4-0 wins over Jackson State in a doubleheader Saturday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

The Tigers (9-1) remained unbeaten at home and did not drop a set across either match, which saw Auburn make a few lineup changes and get some match experience for several players.

"I was pleased with the team's performance today," Auburn head coach Lauren Spencer said. "Our goals were to be mentally sharp, disciplined and professional and that's exactly what they put out there on the court today.

"We wanted to focus on cutting down unforced errors while still being aggressive, and I think everyone did a great job doing both. I think we can gain a lot of confidence from the work we did today and continue to use these next upcoming weekends to continue to grow as a team and prepare for SEC play."

Auburn won the doubles point in both matches with victories on the top two courts. Playing together for the first time this season, sophomore Madeline Meredith and junior Taylor Russo earned a 6-1 win on court one, and sophomore Jaeda Daniel and senior Alannah Griffin won 6-2 at the No. 2 spot to earn the point in the morning's first match.

In singles, sophomore Lindsay Song posted a clean sheet with a 6-0, 6-0 win on court five. Russo finished just seconds after Song, winning 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot, and Griffin provided the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4.

In the second match of the day, Daniel and Meredith got Auburn off to a quick start, winning 6-1 at the top doubles spot. Griffin and Annabella Bowen played together for the first time, and clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two.

Meredith did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 2 singles spot to give Auburn a 2-0 lead. Russo finished shortly thereafter, winning 6-1, 6-1, and Song finished off the second match with a clinching 6-1, 6-0 victory.

The Tigers will close out this six-match home stand next Sunday, Feb. 17, when Auburn hosts Samford and Georgia State at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
