AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn men's tennis team fell 4-0 to nationally ranked Florida State in a Friday evening match at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Seminoles are ranked No. 18 in the latest Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 and No. 22 in the latest Oracle ITA national rankings.

The match was closely contested from the start. The Seminoles picked up a 6-4 doubles win on court one, before Auburn's Tad Maclean and Filippo Mora knocked off FSU's No. 56-ranked tandem of Chase Wood and Richard Thongoana by a 6-3 score.

That left the match on court two to decide the doubles point. Auburn's Matteo DeVincentis and Diego Chavarria fought back to force a tiebreaker at 6-6, and matched Bryn Narung and Juan Martin Jalif shot for shot until 5-5, when the Seminoles edged ahead to win the tiebreaker 7-5 to give FSU a 1-0 team lead.

Maclean on court four, Mora on court two and Tim Dollman on court five each captured their first sets, but the Seminoles captured wins on courts one, three and six to complete the team victory.

Auburn, now 9-4, will be back in action at the 71st Blue Gray National Tennis Classic February 22-23 at Lagoon Park in Montgomery, Ala. Florida State is now 9-2.
