AUBURN, Ala. – No. 17 Auburn (14-2) puts its nine-game winning streak on the line at South Alabama (8-5) Tuesday night. First pitch at Stanky Field is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

Auburn is 54-14 in non-conference play since the start of the 2017 season.

The Tigers went 2-0 in the season series against the Jaguars last year for the first time since 2007.

Auburn's 7-6 win in Mobile a season ago was the team's first road win vs. South Alabama since 2007.

In the last eight games, Auburn has turned in a 1.50 ERA. The Tigers have struck out 84 batters and issued 12 walks while holding opponents to a .173 batting average.

The team's sweep of UTSA marked the fifth sweep of a non-conference foe in the last eight series. Auburn has posted a 21-3 record in non-conference series since the start of 2018.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS

South Alabama enters the week with an 8-5 record after sweeping a weekend series against Scared Heart in which the Jaguars outscored the Pioneers 39-5.

The Jaguars continue a challenging non-conference slate by welcoming their second SEC opponent to Stanky Field. The team was swept by Alabama in a three-game set earlier this season.

Freshman outfielder Ethan Wilson currently sits atop the Sun Belt in slugging percentage (.761) and on-base percentage (.567) and ranks second in batting average (.457)

On the mound, South Alabama has turned in a staff ERA of 3.68 and allowed just three earned runs last weekend against Scared Heart. The Jaguars rank first in the Sun Belt in hits allowed (95), runs allowed (53) and strikeouts per nine innings pitched (9.9).

SERIES HISTORY

South Alabama holds a 50-26 all-time record in the in-state series that dates back to 1968.

The Jaguars are 26-9 in games played in Mobile and had won five straight matchups at home until the Tigers won, 7-6, last season.
