No. 7 Auburn back in action vs. loaded field at Southern Highlands Intercollegiate

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 7 Auburn men's golf team is back in action for the Southern Highlands Intercollegiate, March 3-5, in Las Vegas, Nev. The annual 3-round event features eight ranked teams, including seven in the top 15, at the par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club.

"I know the players are really excited about getting out to Las Vegas and competing," head coach Nick Clinard said. "Southern Highlands is a great venue. UNLV runs a first-class event and it's an outstanding field.

"It will be a fantastic test for us having to manage our games, putt well on some fast greens and compete against some of the nation's best. We're looking forward to the challenge."

Joining the Tigers in the loaded field is No. 4 Georgia Tech, No. 6 USC, No. 8 Texas, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 13 Pepperdine, No. 15 Cal, No. 18 Texas Tech, Florida, Stanford, TCU, UCF, UCLA and host UNLV.

New this year, the individual champion of the Southern Highlights Collegiate will receive an exemption into the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, which will take place Oct. 3-6 at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.

Auburn is set to mirror its lineup from the Tiger Invitational as Trace Crowe, Graysen Huff, Brandon Mancheno, Jovan Rebula and Jacob Solomon will tee it up for the Tigers.

Mancheno is coming off an individual title after winning the Tiger Invitational at 4-under. The sophomore won a playoff on the final day to capture his first collegiate crown.

Auburn took home the team title by 10 strokes at 11-under following three rounds at the Grand National Lake Course.
