AUBURN, Ala. – In-state product Landon Cato has signed with the Auburn baseball program and head coach Butch Thompson, the program announced Wednesday.

Cato joins the Tigers from Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He is rated by Perfect Game as the No. 24 overall player in the state, including the top-rated third baseman, and was named a 2019 Collegiate Baseball Preseason First Team All-American.

"I would definitely have to say the coaching staff played the biggest role in my decision to choose Auburn," Cato said. "They were honest and very down to Earth. I look forward to the challenge of working under their training and leadership. The depth of this program is powerful, and I'm excited to be a part of this awesome baseball family."
