AUBURN, Ala. – No. 14 Auburn is set to host its second Southeastern Conference series of the season when No. 18 Georgia comes to Jane B. Moore Field for a three-game weekend series, which starts Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
Every matchup this weekend between the two teams can be seen on SEC Network + and the WatchESPN app and heard on the Auburn Sports Network.
The Tigers (29-5, 5-1) are coming off a mid-week victory over Kennesaw State after taking their first SEC road series at Mississippi State over the weekend. The Bulldogs (29-6, 1-5) enter the weekend after beating Georgia Southern, 5-1, on Wednesday, which snapped a five-game losing streak to Missouri and LSU.
"I think our kids enjoy playing in front of our home crowd. I think the electricity creates a home-field advantage," said Auburn head coach Mickey Dean. "As coaches say, 'You have to go win,' but if you take a look at home records across any sport, there's a home-field advantage. Our crowd is electric and it's a bonus. A player could be feeling a little bit down, but when you have two to three thousand people jumping and screaming, it kind of keeps up as a player."
