AUBURN, Ala. – Junior Haley Pembroke of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team was selected to represent the Tigers on the 2019 SEC Community Service Team, the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday.

The honor highlights athletes from each school in the SEC who give back to their communities in superior service efforts.

Pembroke, a Bellevue, Wash., product, volunteers every month with the Food Bank of East Alabama. There, she helps sort donations, boxes of food, and performs other organizational tasks in the warehouse.

In addition, Pembroke has been a part of International Reading Day, reading to local children in the classroom. She has participated in the annual City of Auburn's Downtown Trick-or-Treat event, handing out candy and signing autographs for children in attendance. Haley has also spent time opening car doors at Dean Road Elementary School.

The No. 1-seed Tigers open postseason action at the 2019 SEC Championship, facing No. 4 seed South Carolina, March 29. The two-day meet will be held at the Hildebrand Equine Complex on the campus of Texas A&M.
