ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Auburn men's golfer Jovan Rebula captured the 22nd annual Georgia Cup with a 1-up victory over Oklahoma State's Viktor Hovland Thursday afternoon at The Golf Club of Georgia.

Rebula jumped out to a commanding lead as he won four of the opening six holes to take a 4-up lead.

Hovland cut the deficit to two by taking the final two holes on the front nine.

Rebula took advantage of a miscue by Hovland to regain a 3-up margin on the 11th hole.

However, Hovland took three of the next four holes to square the match up.

Rebula buckled down and put himself back on top on the 16th hole - a lead the junior would not relinquish on the final two holes to win the match.

With Rebula's victory, the British Amateur champions lead the overall series, 13-9, and have won seven of the last eight.

Rebula earned an exemption into the 2019 Masters following his victory in the British Amateur.
