O’Berry moves into 10th after Day 2 of Darius Rucker

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. –  It was another solid round for Mychael O'Berry at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Saturday as the sophomore made two birdies and shot a 71 (E) to move up into a tie for 10th on the player leaderboard at 1 over par through the first two rounds. 

As a team, No. 11 Auburn stayed put in eighth place after shooting a 292 (+8) in the second round at the Long Cove Club (Par 71, 6,266 yards). The Tigers are currently at 18 over par heading into Sunday's final round. 

Three of Auburn's five golfers are in the top 30 through two rounds with O'Berry in 10th, fellow sophomore Julie McCarthy in 21st and freshman Brooke Sansom in 27th. 

McCarthy followed her 72 the first day with a 73 on Saturday. Through two rounds, she's made par on 31 of the 36 holes – the second-most pars made among all players at the event. Sansom birdied two holes Saturday and finished with a 72 (+1) in the second round. 

Junior Elena Hualde Zúñiga shot a 76 (+5) for the second straight day and is in a tie for 56th on the player leaderboard. And rounding out the Auburn contingent is sophomore Kaleigh Telfer, who is tied for 67th at 11 over par through the first two rounds. 

Florida State leads the field at 3-under par (565), followed by Duke (573), Wake Forest (574), South Carolina (580), Furman (583), LSU (583), UCLA (584), Auburn (586), Vanderbilt (586), Virginia (590), Arkansas (591), Georgia (591), Northwestern (595), Alabama (601), Baylor (602), North Carolina (604) and Oklahoma State (606). 

For the final round, Auburn will be paired with UCLA and Vanderbilt and will tee off from the first hole at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com
