AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 44 Arkansas Sunday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Arkansas took the doubles point with wins on the top two courts. Auburn's No. 3 team of Alannah Griffin and Caroline Turner led 4-3 on court three when the point was clinched.
The Razorbacks finished off the match with wins on courts one, two and six. On the three remaining courts, Auburn had pushed their opponent to third sets when play was halted. Griffin had lost a first-set tiebreaker but bounced back to win the second set, and freshman Yu Chen led 3-0 in the third set in her match.
Auburn will be the No. 13 seed in next week's SEC Tournament in College Station, Texas. The Tigers will open play Wednesday against an opponent that will be announced later today.
