AUBURN, Ala. – Jala Jordan, a 6-2 forward who played last season at West Virginia, has signed a financial aid agreement and will transfer to Auburn, head coach Terri Williams-Flournoy announced Tuesday.

Jordan, who was rated the No. 14 wing in the class of 2018 out of high school, will sit out the 2019-20 season per NCAA transfer rules. She will have three years of eligibility remaining, starting with the 2020-21 season.

"As a 6-2 wing, Jala will bring some much-needed size to our perimeter when she begins playing in the 2020-21 season," Williams-Flournoy said. "She can shoot the 3 and will be able to play the 3-4 position for us. We are truly excited to have Jala join our Auburn Family."

She appeared in 25 games for West Virginia as a freshman in 2018-19, averaging 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds while playing 6.4 minutes per game. She had a season-high six points and two blocks against Texas Tech and played a season-high 14 minutes with four rebounds against Rider in the WNIT.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa., Jordan attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., as a high school senior. She previously played at St. Francis (Ga.) High, helping her team to a pair of GHSA Class A state titles.

Jordan is the sixth player Auburn has signed heading into the 2019-20 season. She joins incoming freshmen Lauren Hansen, Annie Hughes, Maliya Perry, Morgan Robinson-Nwagwu and Sania Wells, who all signed in November.
