AUGUSTA, Ga. – The dream of playing a competitive round of golf at Augusta National has now become a reality for Auburn sophomore Kaleigh Telfer.

Of the 72 golfers in the field at this weekend's Augusta National Women's Amateur, only the top 30 through two rounds advanced to Saturday's third round which moves to Augusta National Golf Club – the same course that hosts the Master's every year. After shooting a 69 (-3) on Wednesday, Telfer carded a 6-over 78 in Thursday's second round and finished in a tie for 21st with 11 other players.

Since only the top 30 advanced, the 11 golfers that were tied moved to a playoff to determine who would earn the last 10 spots. Telfer, playing in the first group, made par on the first hole, and that was enough to push her through to Saturday's third round.

"It took 37 holes, but for these nine women, imagine their feeling right now," NBC Sports analyst and former LPGA player Paige Mackenzie said. "A dream is in the process of coming true to play competitive golf at Augusta National."

All 72 golfers in the field will play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.

Then on Saturday, Telfer will tee off alongside Arizona State senior Sofia Anokhina at 7:40 a.m. CT for the third and final round. At 3 over, Telfer is currently eight shots back of the leader, Jennifer Kupcho, and only three shots back of the top 10.

The final round will air live on NBC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT. Or you can follow along at www.anwagolf.com.
