Auburn wraps up five-game homestand vs. Jacksonville State

AUBURN, Ala. – No. 19 Auburn (23-9, 7-5 SEC) closes out a five-game homestand against Jacksonville State (16-15, 8-4 OVC) Tuesday night. First pitch from Plainsman Park is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

QUICK HITTERS

Auburn is 6-2 in midweek games this season. The Tigers won the first six midweek contests of the year by a combined score of 56-19 but have dropped the last two contests to Alabama and Georgia Tech.

The Tigers are 16-3 against non-conference opponents this season and have outscored their counterparts 135-64 in the games.

Auburn is 16-4 at home this season and 45-10 at Plainsman Park since the start of 2018. The team hasn't lost three straight home games since 2017.

Conor Davis has multiple hits in three of the last four games. He leads the team with a .368 batting average (14-for-38) in the last 10 games.

SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS

Jacksonville State enters the week with a 16-15 overall record and 8-4 record in OVC play. The Gamecocks took two of three games on the road at Southeast Missouri and have won five of their last six games.

Offensively, Jacksonville State is hitting .263 as a team and is led by senior catcher Nic Gaddis's .347 clip. Gaddis also leads the team in hits (42), doubles (11), home runs (six), total bases (71), slugging percentage (.587) and walks (22).

On the mound, Jacksonville State has turned in a staff ERA of 4.70. Senior RHP Austin Brewster leads the OVC in appearances (17).

SERIES HISTORY

Auburn leads Jacksonville State, 21-16, in the in-state series, including an 18-13 record against the Gamecocks at Plainsman Park.

The Tigers and Gamecocks have split the last eight contests in the series dating back to 2011.
