Auburn shoots second straight round under par at Clemson

SUNSET, S.C. – It was another solid day for the No. 14 Auburn women's golf team at the Clemson Invitational on Monday as the Tigers followed its 10 under from the first round with a 3-under 285 in round two. They are currently in second place, eight strokes back of Vanderbilt. 

Auburn's Julie McCarthy remains atop of the player leaderboard after another round in the red. The sophomore shot a 70 (-2) on Monday and following her 66 (-6) from the first round, she is currently in a tie for first with Tennessee junior Micheala Williams at 8-under par. 

As a team, Auburn has four of its five players under par through the first two rounds of the tournament. 

Sophomore Mychael O'Berry and freshman Brooke Sansom are tied for 15th at 2 under. O'Berry finished at even par Monday with a pair of birdies, and Sansom fired a round of 70 (-2) that included three birdies on the day. Junior Elena Hualde Zúñiga carded a 73 (+1) in the second round but is tied for 18th at 1 under for the event. 

Freshman Chandler Rosholt followed her 74 from the first round with an 84 on Monday and is now in a tie for 93rd with one round to play . 

Vanderbilt leads the 18-team field at 21-under par (555) followed by Auburn (563), Clemson (568), Illinois (574), Texas A&M (575), LSU (576), Tennessee (577), Augusta (579), Florida State (579), Virginia Tech (579), Michigan State (580), Virginia (581), Purdue (582), Kentucky (584), Indiana (585), UNC Wilmington (591), Tulane (595) and Kansas (602). 

Auburn will be paired with Vanderbilt and Clemson for Tuesday's third round and will tee off at 8:39 a.m. CT. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com
