Auburn continues homestand against UAB Tuesday

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn (29-18, 12-12 SEC) continues its eight-game homestand by welcoming UAB (22-26, 8-16 C-USA) to Plainsman Park Tuesday. First pitch in the contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

Tuesday's action can be heard locally on WTGZ-FM (93.9), online at AuburnTigers.com, or on a mobile device via the Auburn Athletics app. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

QUICK HITTERS

Auburn hit .368 and scored 28 runs on 39 hits in the three-game series vs. Alabama. All three totals were the highest in a series this season.

The Tigers have collected 10+ hits in three straight games and 9+ hits in seven straight. The team is hitting .328 in those last seven games.

Ryan Bliss was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after going 6-for-12 with five runs and four RBI against Alabama. Bliss leads the team with a .333 average since the beginning of April.

Will Holland has turned in three hits in back-to-back games for the first time this season and second time in his career. He is 6-for-8 with five runs and five RBI in the last two contests.

Conor Davis is riding a nine-game hitting streak and is hitting .395 (15-for-38) during the span.

Carson Skipper is set to make his eighth start of the season Tuesday, including his fifth at Plainsman Park. He is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his previous four home starts.

A win Tuesday would mark Auburn's 30th this season. The Tigers haven't won 30+ games in three straight seasons since 2003-05.

SCOUTING THE BLAZERS

UAB enters the week with a 22-26 overall record and are 8-16 in C-USA play.

The Blazers have won each of the last two conference series and five of the last seven games.

Offensively, UAB is hitting .279 as a team and are led by Paul Fullerton's .341 clip. Zack Davis has been the team's most consistent player and is hitting .337 with 14 doubles, six home runs and 39 RBI.

The Blazers rank sixth in the country with 118 stolen bases. Seventy-one of those stolen bases have come from two players in Jess Davis and Tyler Tolbert. Davs ranks second in the country with 42 stolen bases.

SERIES HISTORY

Auburn leads the in-state series 50-10 all-time and has won 31 of 33 games played at Plainsman Park.

The Tigers are looking to sweep UAB in the season series in back-to-back years, and a win Tuesday would mark the team's 22nd in the last 23 contests against the Blazers.

Fans attending baseball are advised to park in the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum lot, the Stadium Parking Deck off Heisman Drive, or the Athletics Complex Parking Deck.
