Auburn Athletics announced last week that eight teams received Academic Progress Rate Public Recognition for 2017-18. It was Auburn's best showing in the award's 14-year history. Men's basketball, men's golf, women's cross country, women's golf, women's tennis, women's track and field, gymnastics and volleyball were honored for academic excellence among their peers. The NCAA annually honors teams earning multiyear Academic Progress Rates in the top 10 percent of all squads in each sport.
Dr. Kathryn Flynn is the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Support Services. She heads up a staff of advisors, counselors, tutors and mentors that work with the over 500 student athletes on the Auburn University campus.
