CÓRDOBA, Argentina – Former Auburn forward Horace Spencer has agreed to a professional contract with Atenas, the club announced Monday.
Atenas, which plays in the top basketball league in Argentina, is the winningest franchise in league history with nine championships.
Spencer was instrumental in one of the biggest turnarounds in the country, highlighted by a Southeastern Conference Championship, SEC Tournament title and a run to the Final Four.
The Philadelphia, Pa. native averaged 4.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals in 40 games last season.
Spencer ended his career with 170 blocks, the third-highest total in program history.
In his final campaign with the Tigers, Spencer led the team in blocks 12 times, rebounding six times, steals five times and assists once.
