SAN FRANCISCO – Former Auburn guard Malik Dunbar has earned a roster spot on the Golden State Warriors for the upcoming NBA Summer League, the franchise announced Wednesday.
Dunbar is set to join his former teammates Bryce Brown (Kings) and Jared Harper (Suns) in this year's Summer League, while Chuma Okeke (Magic) will not participate.
Dunbar averaged 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 39 games for the Tigers during his senior season.
The North Augusta, S.C. native was a key figure in Auburn's run to the Final Four, starting 13 of the final 14 games of the season. The Tigers went 12-2 in that stretch, including 11-2 with Dunbar in the starting lineup.
Dunbar was particularly effective when it mattered most as he shot 69 percent from the floor in the final five minutes of games during the 2018-19 campaign.
He scored in double figures 12 times a season ago and led the team in steals eight times, blocks four times and rebounding once.
Dunbar and the Warriors are slated to participate in the California Classic Summer League, July 1-3, before taking part in the annual NBA Summer League, July 5-11, in Las Vegas.
