AUBURN, Ala. – The SEC announced the 2019 preseason coaches All-SEC teams on Thursday, and Auburn was tied for third in the conference with nine representatives. It's the third straight year that the Tigers have had nine players on the three respective teams.

Seniors Derrick Brown and Prince Tega Wanogho each earned first team nominations. Brown, a second team pick by the coaches a year ago, is considered one of the top defensive linemen in the country this coming season while Wanogho started every game at left tackle last season. The duo both made it on the Outland Trophy watch list, honoring the top interior lineman in college football.

The All-SEC second team features fellow defensive linemen Nick Coe and Marlon Davidson who, like Brown, both turned down the NFL to return to Auburn. The trio of Coe, Davidson and Brown combined for 28.5 tackles for loss and 15 sacks last season.

The remaining five players – offensive linemen Marquel Harrell and Mike Horton, defensive backs Javaris Davis and Daniel Thomas, and kicker Anders Carlson – were all named to the third team by the coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Auburn opens the 2019 season two weeks from Saturday against Oregon as part of the AdvoCare Classic in Dallas. The game is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ABC.
