Sophomore transfer Marissa Hines brings a history of volleyball with her to the Plains as both her mother and sister played it collegiately. The 6-0 setter is set to bring height and experience to the court for the Tigers and has the skill to pace Auburn's offense in 2019.
Q: When transferring, what you drew you into Auburn among other schools?
A: I liked the team and the coaches after my visit. The campus was beautiful and I could see myself here for the next three years
Q: Aside from athletics and school, what's your favorite part about Auburn?
A: There's a lot of places to get fried chicken
Q: What's your major and what made you want to pursue a major in that field?
A: Political science, because I think that's its interesting and there's always something new happening to learn about.
Q: What would your dream job be?
A: Open a smoothie/ surf shop on the beach.
Q: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
A: Hard working, friendly, funny
Q: What is a hidden talent that you have that the Auburn Family doesn't know about?
A: I'm really good at ping pong
Q: If you had to be stuck on an island with three people, who would you want them to be and why?
A: Sarah, Johanna and Bear Grylls. The first two are my sisters and I could be around them for a long time and Bear Grylls because he will help us survive.
Q: What is your favorite part about playing volleyball?
A: You can't dwell on any play for too long because it moves so fast and there's so many parts to work on.
Q: What are your biggest individual and team goals for this season?
A: To make it to the NCAA tournament.
Q: What's your favorite home-cooked meal?
A: Enchiladas
Q: What's your go-to pregame music?
A: Rap/anything that will hype me up.
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family what would it be?
A: I'm so happy to be a part of the family and I can't wait to grow here!! War Eagle!
