Freshman Lily Thomason has had a wealth of success away from the Plains and is expected to bring that experience to the Auburn squad in 2019. The Castle Pines, Colo., product joins a solid group of outside hitters ready to make an impact this season.
Q: What drew you into Auburn among other schools?
A: I knew as soon as I was on campus for the first time that Auburn was where I wanted to go to school. I loved the coaches and the girls on the team and it made my decision to pick Auburn very easy.
Q: What's your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: Rolling Toomer's corner after a win!
Q: What is something that you're looking forward to in college aside from athletics?
A: I am looking forward to being in a new place and experiencing new things on my own. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life and I am excited to live in a new part of the country.
Q: How would you describe your hometown to someone else?
A: I live about 30 minutes from the base of the Rocky Mountains so there is a beautiful view and huge trees everywhere.
Q: What has been the biggest culture shock being in the south thus far?
A: The weather. I am not used to having any kind of humidity so it is very different from Colorado.
Q: What is one of your best traits when you're playing on a team?
A: I can always keep a smile during any situation either during practices or games
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone who would you want it to be and why?
A: My little sister Piper because I never stop laughing when I am with her
Q: What's the best piece of advice that you've ever gotten and how do you implement it into your daily life?
A: My dad has told me almost every day to "do the little things in life" and I think this important when it comes to never falling short and finishing everything you do to the best of your ability.
Q: What's your favorite aspect of volleyball?
A: I love how it is such a team-oriented sport and you get to know the girls you are playing with so well.
Q: If you could be someone famous for the day who would you want it to be and why?
A: I would want to be Bobby Flay so I could make myself a really nice meal.
Q: What's your go-to pregame music?
A: One Direction

A: Fish Tacos
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
A: I am so blessed to be a part of the Auburn Family and I am so excited for these next four years! War Eagle!
