AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn student-athletes Megan Rauh and Tommy Brewer received prestigious honors before Auburn's football game vs. Tulane.

Rauh earned the Leah Rawls Atkins Award while Brewer is this year's recipient of the Cliff Hare Award.

The Leah Rawls Atkins Award is presented annually for excellence in academics and athletics to a female student-athlete who models scholarship, character and leadership.

A native of Carmel, Indiana, Rauh contributed to three equestrian national championships while earning a biomedical sciences degree from Auburn University's College of Science and Mathematics.

An aspiring physician assistant, Rauh volunteered in Haiti during her time as an Auburn student-athlete, helping provide health care. She also volunteered at East Alabama Medical Center, and helped with the Beat Bama Food Drive and Toys for Tots.

"My favorite part of being an Auburn student-athlete was the sense of family provided by teammates, coaches and administrators," said Rauh one of two 2019 Brad Davis Southeastern Conference Community Service Leaders of the Year.

"Not only is everyone there for you through everything, good and bad, they want to see you succeed and push you to be the best version of yourself. I truly believe this is why Auburn is able to create not only great athletes but also great students and leaders who go on to achieve greatness following their time at Auburn. I would not be the person I am today without my time spent as an Auburn student-athlete."

An All-American swimmer, Brewer received the Cliff Hare Award, presented annually to a senior student-athlete for academic and athletic success as well as leadership, integrity and courage.

The Bend, Oregon native graduated from Auburn University's College of Education in exercise science in May. He is applying for physical therapy school and desires to help people recovering from traumatic injuries and those with physical challenges.

"My favorite part was becoming part of a family, the Auburn family," said Brewer, who competed in the Olympic trials in 2016 after his freshman season. "Nothing even compares or comes close. Being an athlete eventually ends but the family and friendship stays forever."
