AUBURN, Ala.Carolyn Ansari, a four-star recruit from Greensboro, N.C., has joined the Auburn women's tennis team, head coach Caroline Lilley announced today.

"We are thrilled to have Carolyn joining the Auburn family," Lilley said. "Her commitment to the process and willingness to be pushed outside of her comfort zone to grow and develop fit incredibly well with our culture.

"Character and integrity are the foundation of Auburn women's tennis, and Carolyn embodies the resilient and gritty nature required to excel on and off the court. She is fearless on the court, and that aggressive game style will help her transition to the highest level of collegiate tennis seamlessly."

Ansari was ranked the No. 30 recruit in the class of 2019 and the No. 4 recruit in North Carolina by TennisRecruiting.net. She was the two-time high school player of the year in North Carolina while attending Page High School in Greensboro, and earned a victory in the ITF junior ranks over the No. 37-ranked player in the world.

"I chose Auburn University because I wanted to be somewhere I knew I was going to get pushed and grow as a tennis player and person," Ansari said. "After talking with Coach Lilley, I knew what her motives were as a coach and knew that I was going to excel tremendously in all aspects of the game. Not only that, but I was looking to go somewhere with strong academics so I would be held to a high standard of excellence. The Auburn standard will help me succeed and grow on a daily basis."

Ansari will compete in her first collegiate tournament this weekend as the Tigers travel to Houston for the Rice Invitational.
