AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn head coach Rick Nold announced the addition of Rick Moller and Devin Racey to the Auburn volleyball staff Monday.
Moller joins the program as the team's video coordinator, while Racey will serve as a volunteer assistant in 2019.
"We're really excited to add Devin and Rick to our program for this season," Nold said. "Devin's experience as a player will absolutely benefit our athletes on the floor. Rick's skill with film and Data Volley will help us expand our use of analytics and video, which is key to our improvement in both scouting and player development."
Moller comes to the Plains after three years at the University of Portland where he served as a volunteer assistant coach. With the Pilots, Moller was a part of the winningest three seasons in Portland history, including the program's third-place WCC finish in 2016 and the first 20-win season and postseason appearance for the Pilots in 2018.
Moller worked with the defensive specialists/libero position group for the Pilots and developed a serving program for the team, while also exceling at Data Volley.
In addition, Moller was the first assistant for the beach squad and conducted statistical studies and player wellness research during his time at Portland.
Moller came to Portland with extensive coaching experience in collegiate and youth volleyball, including coaching the MAC Juniors 18s squad. He is married to Kelcey Dunaway, who is doing her residency at the Jack Hughston Hospital in Columbus, Ga.
Racey joins the Tigers after playing collegiately at Endicott College in Massachusetts. The Voorheesville, N.Y., product finished his career ranked in the Top 10 in Endicott history in assists per set and assist percentage. In addition, he helped guide the Gulls to an Elite Eight appearance in 2019 and three New England Collegiate Conference championships.
Racey exceled in the classroom as a student-athlete, garnering NECC Academic All-Conference and earning his degree in sport management.
