AUBURN, Ala. – Three Auburn women's basketball signees earned a nomination for the McDonald's All-American team, it was announced this week.
Incoming freshmen Maliya Perry, Morgan Robinson-Nwagwu and Lauren Hansen were nominated for the 42nd annual McDonald's All-American Game as part of more than 800 top male and female high school basketball players from across the country. The final selection of the 24 players named McDonald's All-Americans will be announced Thursday, Jan. 24.
Hansen (5-8, G, Setauket, N.Y.) is the No. 73 overall prospect and the No. 20 guard nationally according to ESPN. Perry (6-0, G/F, Pickerington, Ohio), was rated the No. 98 overall prospect by Prospects Nation and led her high school team to a state title last season. And Robinson-Nwagwu (5-8, G, Norcross, Ga.) was a first-team all-state performer as a junior last year, averaging 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds last season.
The McDonald's All-American Game will take place Wednesday, March 27, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta and will air on ESPN2 at 4 p.m. CT.
