TERRE HAUTE, Ind.—Auburn junior Joyce Kimeli will be competing at the Under Armour Pre-National Invitational Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The meet, which will also be the site of the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in November, will feature some of the nation's top programs and runners. Kimeli, will be racing at 10 a.m. CT in the women's 6k Blue race.
Kimeli made her 2019 debut two weeks ago at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational where she ran an outstanding race en route to a third-place finish over 5k. The 2018 All-SEC performer and NCAA Championship participant crossed in 16:20.69, finishing behind Weini Kelati of New Mexico and Alecia Monson of Wisconsin. Kelati was the 2018 NCAA Cross Country runner up, while Monson was fourth at nationals a year ago.
Saturday's races will feature 57 men's teams (602 athletes) and 64 women's teams (659 athletes). The women's field will include 10 ranked teams including four top 10 teams.
Auburn's full squad will return to action Friday, November 1 at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Lexington, Ky.
