AUBURN, Ala. – For the third time in seven games, Auburn's Marlon Davidson is the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Davidson delivered another award-winning performance in Auburn's 51-10 victory at Arkansas, recording five tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble which he also recovered, and a quarterback hurry.
"He just had an outstanding game," said Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, who awarded Davidson Auburn's defensive helmet sticker for his efforts against the Razorbacks. "Really set the tone the third play of the game with the strip and the fumble. We were able to score three plays later and that really set the tone for the entire game."
"It was really big," Davidson said of the opening series takeaway. "I think that was the first time we've done that since I've been here, some type of turnover on the first drive. Coming out and making a statement from the beginning that Auburn is here, and we're here to play football. That was pretty impressive."

It's the fifth time in the seven weeks in which Auburn played that an Auburn defensive lineman has earned SEC honors. Derrick Brown claimed the award after the Florida and Texas A&M games.
"He's probably got the award, so I'll give it to him," Brown said after the Arkansas game. "It's alright, I'll be back next week."
Davidson also won the conference D-line award against Tulane and Kent State.
"When I got the first two [SEC weekly awards, Brown] said, 'I just can't let Marlon do me wrong like that,'" Davidson said. "It just started to be a competition."
Davidson's recognition continues Auburn's streak of winning SEC awards after each game this season.
