AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat to No. 6 Arkansas on Thursday night at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Auburn (6-8-2, 3-5-0 SEC) held strong in the first half, allowing only one goal on a breakaway to remain within striking distance. However, in the second half, the Razorbacks (13-2-1, 7-1-0 SEC) put four shots in the back of the net to put the game out of reach.

"We weren't good enough, and we didn't execute our game plan," head coach Karen Hoppa said. "We're going to take a lot from this game. We know we can be better. At this point, these last four games don't matter. All that matters is Sunday, and that's our focus. How can we be better? How can we compete better?"

The Tigers fired off seven shots in the contest, including two on frame. Jessie Gerow, Angeline Daly and Rocio Sanders were the aggressors for the Tigers, each recording a pair of shots with Daly and Sanders putting one apiece on frame.

Sixteen players saw action in the match, including five who played all 90 minutes.

The Tigers continue the final stretch of the regular season with the Iron Bowl of Soccer slated for 1 p.m. CT in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
